As all environmentally aware citizens, we have serious concerns about the long-term viability of our lake. There is a serious risk of foreign species being introduced and wiping out the habitat for indigenous fish. We implore you to take special care in washing down your boats, emptying bilge water and wet-wells, and purchasing bait from local suppliers. There is only one road access into the lake and we have a special opportunity to keep Basket Lake a viable fishing resort for generations to come. Many of our guests chose to practise catch-and-release for the larger, breeding Northern Pike and Walleye. This practise also contributed significantly to the number of trophy-seized fish caught each year. Click here for more information on foreign species and the future.
